Father's Day

Thank you to the team who made the Father's Day breakfast such a lovely experience for all our dads. Thank you Year 1 for a fantastic liturgy to celebrate fathers. I hope all our fathers and father like figures enjoyed their special day last Sunday.

Book Week

A big THANK YOU to Mrs Garnon for a wonderful book week celebration. Thanks also to all the parents who made such an effort with their children's costumes. The children had a fun day and it was a joy to see so many parents join their children for lunch.

Sandon's artwork

Please take the time to look at the wonderful artwork addition to our school Hill St entry. Sandon Gibbs O'Neill, a local artist, has created a beautiful mural that livens up an otherwise dull brick wall.  Sandon will provide an explanation of the artwork which will he placed next to it.

National Child Protection Week

This week is National Child Protection Week (NCPW). NCPW aims to engage, educate and empower Australians to understand the complexity of child abuse and neglect and work together to prevent it. The campaign does this through sharing evidence through webinars and events as well as creating resources in order to empower communities to have conversations regarding children’s safety and wellbeing.

It is dedicated to bringing the eradication of child abuse and neglect to the forefront of Australian society.

McAuley Day

On Thursday, 26th September we celebrate McAuley Day. This year as also we have a fun day of celebrations and this year we are including a Talent Show. As we have many, many talented students here at Catherine McAuley, the SRC will hold auditions for the best and the brightest.

Students who pass the audition process, will get to present in the 2024 Student Talent Show and will have an opportunity to invite their parents to see all the performances. The show will have students performing from Kindergarten through to Year 6. It will be so much fun!

Each grade will have a lunch-time to audition. See below:

Monday 9th September - Kindergarten

Wednesday 11th September  - Year 2

Thursday 12th September  - Year 3

Friday 13th September  - Year 4

Monday 16th September  - Year 5

Tuesday 17th September  - Year 6

Important Information:

  • Auditions will be held in the Infants Music Room.
  • You can perform individually or as a group.
  • You do not all have to be in the same grade to perform, for example, siblings can perform together.
  • Your performance should be less than 3 minutes.
  • No live animals or pets!
  • You may use props. You need to organise these.
  • There will be a speaker available if you need music (but it will most likely be connected to a teacher’s phone, so make it easy to find.)
