ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Revise and Edit Phase - Find your child’s draft writing piece that they wrote last week using the above picture prompt. Have your child read their writing to you or a sibling. Once they have finished reading, go back and read through one sentence at a time with them, asking them questions like: Does this make sense? Are any words missing? Could we add or change any words to make it more interesting or descriptive? Let’s check the punctuation. Have we got full stops at the end of sentences?

Support your child to revise their work by adding, changing or removing words or sentences.

Support your child to edit their work by adding, changing or removing punctuation and/or fixing any spelling mistakes using their M100W book or their knowledge of letter/sound relationships.

*Get your child to keep their writing in a safe place as we will be using it again next week.
