Principal's Report
Thank you
What a lovely morning it was last Friday at Gardenvale PS when we celebrated Father’s Day! The event was well supported by a large contingent of Gardenvale dads, mums, grandparents and special friends. Thank you to all of you for making the time to come along, it was a great morning! This special occasion would not have been possible without all the work of the Year 3 parent organising team. A big thank you to Shaheen Khan for her brilliant coordination of the event. Thank you also to all the parents that chipped in and helped out on the morning. We also thank Mick Hennig for his work in organising the lunchtime event for Gardenvale Dad’s, which I hear was another successful and fun occasion.
Hats! Hats! Hats!
We ask all children to find their hats, make sure they are clearly named and have them at school to wear when they are at play or outdoors. Our school is a SunSmart school, and we have a policy that aims to protect the students and staff from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation. As from the beginning of September hats are now to be worn when students are outside through until the end of April next year.
District Athletics
78 students represented Gardenvale PS at the District Athletics on Thursday 28th August. The students performed very well, with a record number of students going on to the Division Competition on the 15th October. Our teachers reported back that if there was a prize for the school with the best-behaved students Gardenvale would win hands down!!
