Term Inquiry
Our inquiry topic this term is grounded in Geographical knowledge and understanding. Our essential question, “What’s so special about the world’s places, spaces and people?”, guides students as they explore the significance of the environments and communities that matter to them. Students begin by learning about First Nations perspectives on caring for Country, developing an appreciation for connections held by Australia’s First Peoples.
From there, students research places of their choice. They generate and investigate their own questions, examining their chosen places through local, national and global lenses. Because each student follows their own line of inquiry, the direction of our learning is continually evolving, reflecting the diverse interests and curiosities within the classroom.
The inquiry unit concludes at the end of the term with a special Parent Expo, where students proudly share their research, insights and growing understanding of the significance of their special places.
