English

Year 3 brings a new approach to the learning and teaching of English in our classrooms.
Much of our learning in this area is closely connected to the reading of Roald Dahl’s ‘Matilda’ and Roland Harvey’s ‘Off We Go Around Australia’.
Reading, writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation and handwriting will be linked to our class novel. As a result, it is crucial that students remember to bring their novels to school each day and take them home each night.
We will begin this term with setting up our classrooms and learning how we work both independently and in small groups. Beginning week 3, we encourage students to read at least 4 nights a week for 20 mins(Matilda 3 nights a week and a night of free choice).
After reading each night, please sign/comment in your child's reading diary.
