ATAR 90+ ACHIEVERS || Congratulations to our students who achieved an ATAR above 90 — an outstanding accomplishment that reflects not only academic excellence, but the Curiosity, Optimism, Respect and Excellence they have demonstrated throughout their VCE journey.
Sixteen students achieved an ATAR above 90; not all are pictured here, but we congratulate each of them on this significant achievement.
We are incredibly proud of their efforts and of the positive impact they have made within our school community.

CELEBRATING LARA’S LEADERSHIP – WOMEN’S SELF-DEFENCE WORKSHOP || Congratulations to Lara K (Year 10 2026) who, as part of her High Abilities Wider Knowledge (HAWK) program, organised today’s women’s self-defence workshop and managed every detail herself. Instructor Anne, who has been running self-defence programs for more than 30 years, commented that she has never had a high school student independently contact her and organise a workshop. Lara’s initiative, organisation and professionalism stood out as exceptional. A wonderful example of confidence, leadership and drive in action. Well done, Lara.

BONJOUR FROM PARIS! || It’s been a packed few days for our French Exchange students in Paris — navigating the Metro, seeing the city sparkle with Christmas lights, and travelling to the Palace of Versailles to learn about Marie Antoinette and French history. Highlights also included visiting the Eiffel Tower (all the way to the top!), exploring Le Marais on a boulangerie walking tour, browsing vintage stores and relaxing in Place des Vosges. The group also enjoyed the Galeries Lafayette Christmas windows, skating at the rooftop ice rink, and a visit to Notre Dame and the nearby Christmas markets. Throughout the experience, our students have been curious, respectful and resilient — and wonderful ambassadors for our college.

LAST DAY IN PARIS & ONWARD TO AIX-EN-PROVENCE || The final day in Paris saw our French Exchange students visit the Musée d’Orsay to explore impressionist art, including works by Monet, Degas, Cézanne and Renoir, housed in the beautifully converted train station. Students then spent time exploring the flea markets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and strolling through the Luxembourg Gardens, before finishing their Paris experience with a dinner cruise along the Seine and one last view of the Eiffel Tower. This post also includes a few photos from an earlier visit, capturing the incredible views from the top. The group then travelled on to Aix-en-Provence, marking the next exciting chapter of their French Exchange adventure.

DEMONSTRATING BRAVERY AND COMPASSION || A big shout out to Year 10 student Saffron, who recently responded to several heat-related incidents as part of her heatwave patrol duties with the Mentone Lifesaving Club. With temperatures nudging 44°C, the beach was extremely busy, and one particularly serious incident involved an unconscious patient, where Saffron worked calmly and professionally alongside fellow lifesavers until Ambulance Victoria arrived. During this time, Saffron assisted with moving the patient, preparing oxygen and maintaining observation and care.
Mentone LSC’s GM of Lifesaving Services and Patrol Captain, Shad Wall, praised the patrol response, noting that Saffron and her fellow lifesavers cared for the patient with dignity, showing an unpanicked and professional composure well beyond their years.
We’re proud to see our students making a positive impact beyond the classroom, supported by outstanding community organisations. Well done, Saffron!
