2026 SCHOOL-BASED APPRENTICESHIPS AND TRAINEESHIPS

We are proud to recognise several students who have successfully secured School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs) for 2026. These opportunities highlight the students’ commitment to their future pathways and their dedication to gaining valuable industry experience while continuing their secondary education, these students are excellent examples of how vocational pathways support career development, confidence, and real-world skills.

 

Owen – Year 10

Owen has commenced a School-Based Apprenticeship with Wemyss Plumbing and Excavation, undertaking a Certificate III in Plumbing. As part of his training, Owen will attend trade school in Bendigo, where he will develop the technical skills and knowledge required for a career in the plumbing industry.

Jack – Year 11

 

Jack has started his School-Based Apprenticeship with The Truck Service, working towards a Certificate III in Heavy Diesel Mechanics. He will complete his trade school training at SuniTAFE Swan Hill, combining practical workplace learning with formal studies.

 

In addition to his SBAT, Jack is also completing his second year of the Certificate II in Engineering Pathways through the VDSS program, which he attends on Mondays. Jack balances this alongside his SBAT placement on Wednesdays, demonstrating strong commitment in pursuing his vocational goals.

Archie – Year 11

Archie will undertake a School-Based Apprenticeship with Cadd Construction, working one day per week in the industry while completing a Certificate III in Carpentry. He will complete his training and trade school through SuniTAFE Swan Hill, building valuable practical skills and industry knowledge.

Max – Year 12

Max has secured a School-Based Traineeship with BR & C Agents, where he will work two days per week as well as completing his VCE VM certificate. He will complete his on-the-job training through Murray Mallee Training, studying towards a Certificate II in Agriculture. Max has a strong interest in livestock and is looking forward to further developing his skills in this area.
