Welcome to Week 4!

Literacy

We have been working on learning our sounds and letters during our Literacy sessions. Each week we focus on a set of letters and sounds and learn about them through songs and activities. We have been working on our formation of these letters in our Literacy books. You might notice some of these letters have been sent home to practice in your child's reading folder. 

Numeracy

During Numeracy, the Foundation and Grade 1 students have been learning all about shapes! We enjoyed making some shapes out of play-dough, playing shape bingo, being shape detectives and trying out some shape games on the iPads. We have also been doing lots of number work and counting through the use of games and hands on activities. 

Religion

We have been learning about Prayer during our Religion lessons. We have discussed how we can pray and where we can pray, as well as beginning to learn some formal prayers like the Our Father. 

What's On?

We have our Learning Conversations coming up on Tuesday the 26th of March. You can book an interview using the Simon app. If you need some assistance with this, please reach out to us. We are looking forward to discussing your child's learning with you. 

We also have our Welcome Night coming up on Thursday the 29th of February. This will be held at the Splash Park. Bring your picnic rug and some dinner & drinks for a relaxed evening to kick off the new school year. See you there from 5-6:30pm!
