Welcome to Chev Evening

Last week the College hosted 150 parents for our annual Welcome to Chev evening for parents and carers new to the College and those with Year 7 students. The 'vibe' in the McGrath Hall was buoyant as parents and carers chatted with old friends and initiated new friendships. It was lovely to hear them reflecting on an exciting start to the year for their children.

Those in the room were treated to some fun video footage of the Year 7 cohort taken in the first few weeks of their high school life.

Chev students shone on the night with a wonderful showcase by the guitar ensemble and Year 11 Buddy Leaders working back of house to serve with ‘joy in their hearts’. Our Vice Captains, Olivia and James did a wonderful job as MCs and our College Captains, Sarah and Hugh, reflected fondly on what it means to a member of the Chevalier community.

New Student Morning Tea

On Tuesday 27 March, our Hospitality and Student Care Captains hosted a morning tea for new students to the College. This student-led initiative was the perfect example of one of our core MSC values: hospitality.

Our students enjoyed some sweet treats while chatting with fellow students and staff members about their experience at Chev so far. Our new students agreed that while they felt nervous about starting at a new school, they have felt welcomed by everyone and made to feel more at ease.

It was wonderful to witness the warmth and kindness shown by our student leaders while making our new students feel welcome.
