The ISA Summer season is drawing to a close but there are 3 teams still bringing the heat as they compete for the premiership in their respective competitions. Best of luck to the Boy’s 14’s Basketball, Girls Junior A Touch Team and Girls Junior A Basketball who are chasing the win tomorrow!
Congratulations to all our teams for their efforts throughout the season. A successful season in sport should not only be measured on the scoreboard or the competition ladder. The achievement of small goals, team morale, the adaptability and resilience of players and the ability of a team to communicate and collaborate can all be used as measures of success. Having watched all of our teams train and play I can say with a strong degree of confidence that all teams achieved success in at least one of these aspects.
A very big thank you to the students who have participated in completing accreditations to Referee or Umpire Summer sports. Without student officials, many of our sporting programs would not be viable.

A Chevalier Swimming Carnival wouldn’t feel right without a few grey clouds and drizzle, but eventually the sun emerged allowing our students to showcase their house spirit at the yearly event. The conditions definitely did not affect the results with multiple records broken on the day and an increase in participation from students in both the 50m & 25m pool.
As always, the Chevalier Superfish event was a highlight of the day with Jessica W and Hamish K taking the title for 2024.
Age Champions, Runners Up, Record Breakers and House Shield winners will be announced at our upcoming student assembly.
The Southern Highlands Secondary Schools Twilight Carnival is an annual event with the Chevalier College Swim team competing against other Highlands Secondary Colleges. Our swimmers absolutely dominated the evening taking home 10 age champion trophies as well as both the Boys and Girls overall Champion Shields.

It’s Show season and the Chev team are preparing for their 3rd show of the season this Saturday 9 March at Moss Vale.
The team have already bought home several prizes from the local shows including Champion Steer at the Roberson Show and 2nd in the Heavy Weight Class at Kangaroo Valley. They are now laser focused on the Sydney Royal Easter Show later this month. We wish them the best of luck at Moss Vale and the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Winter Sport planning is in full swing with almost 60% of our students registered to trial for a Winter Sport. We are particularly excited for our Year 7 students to participate in Chev sport for the first time!
Team selections will be taking place over the next few weeks with pre-season training beginning in Week 10, in preparation for Round 1 of competition on Saturday 4 May.
Winter athletes are encouraged to continue fitness and skills training throughout the April school holidays to assist in their preparation. Sample training programs can be accessed via Canvas/Extra Curricular/Sport & ISA/Strength and Conditioning.
Students interested in participating in Refereeing and Umpiring for our Winter Sports should see Coach Phillips. Students without accreditation for umpiring/refereeing should also see Coach Phillips to express interest in any upcoming courses.
Parent volunteers for Winter Sports BBQ’s will receive registration information through Need to Knows toward the beginning of Term 2.
