Principals Report

Ms Stephanie Scott

Welcome to our second and final newsletter for the term! This Saturday many of us will take part in the Jackson Clarke Memorial Lantern Parade, as part of the Autumn festival. Thank you so much to the organisers of the festival for arranging such a lovely tribute to our much loved and missed Jackson. Anyone who wants to be involved can meet at Pethrick oval this Saturday 6.45 - 7.00 pm.

This week I posted on FB the letter we received from the Secretary of the Department of Education (overall boss!) congratulating us on our HSC results. This really is an incredible achievement - to put it in context approximately 8 - 10 schools in the whole state receive these letters and this is our second in 3 years! I apologise in advance if I continue to highlight this achievement - but it really is testimony to the experience, expertise and commitment of our staff, as well as the individual support and high expectations we have at THS! Our reading and numeracy results also continue to show impressive growth, with reading results, in particular, showing improvement which is significantly above state and like school groups.

Well done to our Yr 7 students who had a magnificent time on camp! Please enjoy the photos in this edition as well as Mr Cook's written account. There is also some great video footage on FB of students enjoying themselves. A huge thank you to Mr Cook, Mrs Koch, Mrs Clothier, Mrs V and Dylan for making this possible!

Our Term 1 formal assembly will be held on Tuesday 9th April in the last week of term. This is where we recognise student achievement and effort throughout the term and also induct our new Student Representative Council. Award recipients will be notified beforehand, and we encourage family and friends to attend if possible.

Thank you everyone for your support this term. It has certainly been an extremely difficult time for our school, and we appreciate everyone's kindness and thoughts so much.
