Leadership Centre

Highlight

Selamat Siang

This week has been another jam-packed week full of exciting new learnings for the students of the leadership centre.

We have been exploring fractions and decimals using a “decimat”, helping us make sense of decimal size and decimal place value, and encouraging the use of fractional language to describe decimals. Rohaan M from 5/6FL said "Decimats help me understand values of tenths, hundredths, and thousandths" and Ryan R from 5/6S shared "Decimats helped me with identifying the powers of 10".

Our Guided Inquiry unit continues to evolve, as we collect images, recipes and conduct interviews, gathering information that represents our own identities. In the hopes of cooking their recipe of choice, students have created persuasive advertisements using emotive language, imagery, similes and metaphors. With all the compelling and diverse pitches, selecting a dish to cook together as a class will be a difficult task!

It was wonderful to meet parents and caregivers this Monday at the Meet & Greet.

Have a restful weekend,

The Leadership Centre Teachers

  • Yr 3 and Yr 5 Families: NAPLAN Locked Down Browser Download In preparation for the upcoming NAPLAN Assessments in Week 7 and 8, please ensure that your child/ren in Years 3 and 5 have downloaded the NAP Locked Down Browser 2024 from the App Store.
