Principal Chat

It was a lovely morning chat this morning as many of the children rushed in to share their experiences about the Walcha Show over the weekend.  It sounds as though the rides were a popular attraction especially the dodgem cars!  There was also lots of excitement about catching up with friends and running into former staff and students. Congratulations to everyone who had successful exhibits - what talents we have among our staff, students and parents.

Last week, our school joined millions around the world in celebrating International Women's Day, a day dedicated to honoring the achievements and contributions of women throughout history and present-day society. Although the day has passed, its significance continues to resonate within our school community.

At our school, we believe in fostering an environment where every child understands the importance of equality and respect, regardless of gender. International Women's Day provided us with a valuable opportunity to reinforce these principles and celebrate the remarkable women who have shaped our world.

On Friday last week, our students engaged in various activities aimed at learning about the achievements of women who have broken barriers and paved the way for future generations. The students participated in discussions, read stories, and created an artwork inspired by Frida Khalo. They also reflected upon the many different women who have inspired them throughout their lives.

By celebrating International Women's Day, we strive to instill in our students the values of equality, empowerment, and inclusivity. We want them to recognise that everyone, regardless of gender, has the potential to make a positive impact on the world around them.

As a school community, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders who will continue to champion gender equality and create a more just and equitable society for all.  Please be sure to look in the "In the Classroom" section to watch the video of the children talking about women who have inspired them.
