Mandatory and Priority Training Planner
A new tool for principals and business managers
The department has developed a planning tool that captures all mandatory and priority professional learning for school staff, volunteers and contractors in one place.
The planner has been developed in response to feedback from school leaders who had asked for a tool that captures key recurring department professional learning requirements in one location.
The planner supports school leaders to understand and track staff training requirements (for example, frequency, applicable staff, method of enrolment and re-enrolment). It can be downloaded in an excel format which can be filtered, rearranged, and enhanced to meet the individual needs of each school.
All items included from Term 1, 2024 are existing training and professional learning requirements. There are no new requirements being introduced with the launch of the planner.
The planner is an optional, supportive resource for schools developed in response to feedback from principals and peak associations and is not an attestation or compliance tool. The APF was consulted during the development of the planner.
The planner was developed by the Operational Policy, School Engagement and Compliance Division (OPSEC), who are responsible for the Policy Advisory Library (PAL), Principal Advisory Service (PAS), School Policy Templates Portal and the School Operations Forward Planner. OPSEC Division welcome any questions or feedback on the planner via the Principal Advisory Service - principal.advisory.service@education.vic.gov.au.
They are also very happy to come and speak at network/regional/other meetings about the supports that are available – just let Elly Gay or Jane Carew-Reid, Executive Directors, know if you’d like a presentation at an upcoming meeting this year.
