First Aid Training

All students who are new to the College in 2024 have been enrolled in the First Aid course delivered by St John Ambulance. The course provides an excellent grounding in first aid and will enable students to perform appropriate first aid procedures and basic life support skills, including rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The first group of Year 10 students commenced the course this week with the remaining students scheduled to complete it on the following dates:

  • Monday 11th March (Year 11).
  • Tuesday 12th March (Year 10 Course 2).
  • Tuesday 19th March (Year 10 Course 3).

The cost of the course is included in the student fees already charged to parents.

Wagin Woolorama

The annual Wagin Woolorama will be on Saturday 9th of March 2024. We will be departing the College at 5:30am on Saturday and returning at approximately 6:00pm. Students will be competing in junior judging events and shearing. There have been several training sessions leading up to the Wagin Woolorama to prepare students for the events they have nominated for.

Good luck to all students involved in the show this weekend.

Black Market Bull Sale

A group of 8 students attended the Black Market Bull Sale at Boyanup Sale Yards on Wednesday 28th February 2024. At the sale, students learnt about genetic improvement and sire selection and how this influences the College’s cattle breeding program. Students also had the opportunity to observe the auctioneering process and networked with industry throughout the day.

Cattle Club

Cattle Club commenced this week and will be held on every Wednesday evenings after school. Students will have the opportunity to learn cattle husbandry skills and will be involved in preparing animals for upcoming agricultural shows. Interested Day or Residential students are encouraged to speak to Kylie Quilty or Tony Abel if they wish to be a part of Cattle Club.

Student Rosters

The weekly student roster for Farm has been completed and is displayed around the College. Year 10 and 11 students are encouraged to take special note of the Weekend Stock Roster as their attendance is a requirement of their Farm learning program.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you require further information regarding the Farm Training program.
