And we're back ...

Tim Dehn - Community Relations Manager on behalf of Friends of Donvale (FOD) President, Amanda Gargett

Friends of Donvale are thrilled to welcome you back to another year of community events and community building.

First out of the starting gates, this Saturday there's Welcome Fest, an afternoon of inflatables, carnival games, food trucks, a dunk tank, doughnuts, snags, ice cream, a DJ, and time to mix and mingle with other Donvale families.

This is what one parent had to say after last year's Welcome Fest:

Walking down the hill from the car park my kid’s eyes lit up with excitement with all the inflatable rides which then was fuelled by doughnuts, fairy floss, sausage sizzle, dance party, games and countless other fun activities. I was so impressed by the amount of effort and coordination went into the event.

My son was able to cross paths with other preps from his class and have some shared experiences outside the classroom which is so encouraging and helps to forge those ever important new friendships.

Family tickets available through Trybooking here: booking closes at midnight tonight (Thursday) - join the 400 or so families already booked to attend - and catch a glimpse of last year's event here:

But FOD is much more than parties. (You mean there is something more?)

Friendly Fridays - as the name implies - happens just after drop-off on several Fridays during Term 1: the next one is on 23 February and you can find us in the FOD lounge at the end of Building A (adjacent the Primary playground) coffee or tea in hand, for thoroughly informal "getting to  know you" conversation.

Prayer for the College is a regular time of prayer for all aspects of College life. We meet informally on Monday mornings from 8:30-9:30 and Friday afternoons from 2-3 in the FOD lounge.

The Second-Hand Uniform Shop is open on selected dates during term time; you will find us at sports events dishing out icy poles, and as Easter approaches we'll be around with Hot Cross Buns. Of course.

Go to this Schoolbox page for full details of everything FOD, and watch Schoolbox news for special events throughout the year.

We look forward to building community with you in 2024.
