Sophie Fair & Riley Lyons are Year 12 VM students at Seymour College who have recently commenced separate school-based apprenticeships and traineeships with their employer, FSM Recycling & Demolition. Both students have spent time working with the employer in separate aspects of the business. Riley experienced working with the qualified welder, learning new skills which he really enjoyed, whilst Sophie has been working in the office, assisting with managing the administration side of the organisation. Discussions were held with the employer to ascertain the best career pathways for each student. As a result, Riley has commenced a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication school-based apprenticeship, whilst Sophie has been registered into a Certificate III in Business. Goulburn Ovens TAFE will provide the training to both students, with Sophie being required to attend online sessions and Riley being required to attend the Shepparton campus in week blocks. 

Both students will attend the workplace two days per week and school the remaining three days to complete their Year 12 VCE VM qualification.
