Welcome to GYMNASTICS!

(Miners Rest Primary School style)

Today we successfully launched into our very own school based Gymnastics Program aided by the wonderful coaches and staff of Ballarat Gymsports.

Both senior and junior students, alike, were very eager and enthusiastic watching Katherine, Alyson, Mr. Brown, Ronnie, Nick and I setting up the brand new equipment early on Wednesday morning.  We received so much positive feedback from children telling us they were 'EXCITED' and ‘PUMPED’ to come and practise their skills during their class’ PE session.

Our first lessons were an absolute HIT and we cannot begin to describe how wonderful it was to see all students willing to have a go of the different exercises and challenge themselves to try new moves with the support of their teachers and friends. 

We were particularly thrilled to hear the students’ initial reactions to all of the brand new apparatus we had purchased for our program that was funded directly by our Sports Day Coin Line Fundraiser (thank you Miss Hannah and the JSC crew).  

The smiles, laughter and red faces at the end of every session made all of the hard work to get gymnastics off the ground for our students worth it.

Every class will have three more gymnastics lessons where they will engage in safe, directed, challenging and sometimes thrilling new movements.
