Dear Families,

Thank you to all our families who attended our Public Education Open Day on Wednesday and helped us celebrate our school's 157th Birthday. It was a joyous occasion, and it was wonderful to see families engaging in classroom activities, exploring our learning environments, and witnessing the incredible talents of our school choir and dance groups. Your involvement is valued by our school community and highlights the strong partnership we share in supporting your child’s education.

I want to extend my congratulations to our enthusiastic athletes who participated in the Crookwell Goulburn PSSA District Athletics Carnival on Monday. The respect, energy, and teamwork displayed by our students was commendable and left a lasting impression on everyone present. It is inspiring to see our students not only striving for personal bests but also encouraging and supporting their teammates. A special mention goes to those who have qualified for the regional competitions—best of luck! We know you will represent our school with pride.

A warm congratulations is also in order for the students who participated in the GCOPS combined choir and the dance performance at the GCOPS on Tuesday evening. Your hard work, dedication, and talent were on full display, and it was a pleasure to see our students shine in front of an audience. Events like these are a credit to the creativity and artistic spirit that thrives within our school.

I would like to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation to our dedicated staff. Thank you for choosing to work in Public Education and for your unwavering commitment to our students. Your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for the positive impact you have on our school community. It is your passion and commitment that help shape the future of our students.

Congratulations to Nyamba, who represented the Goulburn/Crookwell PSSA District at the girls rugby league trials in Ulladulla on Thursday. We heard that there were lots of tackles made, showcasing not only her skills but also her determination and competitive spirit. Nyamba’s participation is a great achievement, and we are proud to have you represent our school.

Looking ahead, I want to inform you that next week, students will participate in the Bullying No Way! National Week of Action. This important initiative aims to raise awareness about bullying and promote a safe and supportive school environment. The theme for 2025 is 'Be bold. Be kind. Speak up.' Throughout the week, students will engage daily activities that encourage respectful relationships and empower them to speak out against bullying. I will also meet with the Student Representative Council to review our school's approach and response to bullying, ensuring that we continue to foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.

As we continue our journey through this term, I want to thank you once again for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community. We look forward to welcoming you to our annual Book Week Parade in Week 5, where we celebrate the joy of reading and the importance of literacy in our students' lives.
