Learning Power Award Recipients
Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday, during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

PA | Manan | For showing amazing resilience this week during literacy groups. Even when you were having trouble with some sounds, you didn't give up. You kept trying your best and pushed through the challenge. That determination is what makes a great learner. I’m so proud of your hard work, Manan! |
PN | Farhan | For being a motivated learner. You approach learning tasks with a positive attitude, working hard to stay focused and produce your best work. I am so impressed with how you use feedback to challenge yourself and continuously improve your skills. You should be very proud! Well done Farhan. |
1C | Edward | For demonstrating outstanding motivation and responsibility in the classroom last week. He has been working hard to stay focused and ignore distractions. This student began tasks with focus and enthusiasm, completed them within the set timeframe, and took great pride in keeping our classroom tidy and well-organised. |
1O | Asher | For the motivation you showed during our persuasive writing unit. Each lesson, you showed great determination to improve your work. You listened to feedback and used it to strengthen your writing by adding clear reasons and detailed examples that made your arguments much more convincing. I was especially impressed with the way you kept challenging yourself to make each piece of writing better than the last. Well done, Asher! Keep up the fantastic effort. |
2M | Adhyan | For being a motivated learner in your writing this week. You came up with great ideas your narrative in a group setting, thinking about both inside traits (what characters feel and think) and outside traits (what characters look like and do). You have also been making a great effort to come down to the carpet on time, showing you are ready to learn. Well done, Adhyan! |
2A | Edgar | For being a motivated learner consistently trying your best in everything you do. You are happy, positive and always try your best even when things are tricky or new. You are a great role model for your peers, namely walking sensibly to the classroom, following our routines and being the best ipad monitor! Well done Edgar! |
3/4LM | Aria | For showing resilience in a challenging moment. After plans at mass were unexpectedly changed, you showed courage and determination and bravely read by yourself. Aria, you showed that resilient learners stay calm under pressure and never give up! What a perfect example of resilience. Well done, Aria! |
3/4K | Ronicca | For being a collaborative learner. You are always ready to help your classmates, whether it's checking in to make sure someone understands the task, or making sure everyone in your group has a chance to speak and feel heard. You lead by example with your care, patience, and the ability to make everyone feel valued. Thank you for being such a kind and thoughtful member of 3/4K Ronicca! |
3/4N | Virat | For the positive way he has settled at St Martin’s de Porres. Virat’s natural curiosity shines through in his learning, as he eagerly explores new ideas and shares his wonderings with others. He listens carefully to feedback and reflects thoughtfully, showing a true commitment to growing as a learner. |
5/6S | Leah | For being a motivated learner. No matter what we do, whether it’s dressing up for Book Week or creating a beautiful watercolour piece for our Art show, you always give 100%. You are extremely positive and approach tasks with a lot of energy and focus. Keep up the great effort, Leah! |
5/6D | Jasper | This week, Jasper has shown motivation and determination in his learning. He took on challenging maths tasks with confidence, applying his knowledge to work out unknown angles. I was so impressed with how committed and up for the challenge you were, Jasper. Your enthusiasm and persistence was inspiring, well done! |
5/6A | Harvey | For being a curious learner during our chemical science incursion. You showed focus ,interest and asked inquiring questions when participating in the hands-on experiments and interactive tables. Keep challenging your thinking and driving your learning, well done Harvey. |

It's so impressive to hear you using words like full, empty, half-full, and nearly full to describe and compare different containers. Keep up the fantastic work! |
PN | Ann | This award is proudly presented to Ann for showing wonderful collaboration on our class walk to the post box. You stayed with your group, listened carefully to your teachers, and helped keep yourself and others safe. Well done, Ann. |
1C | Misha | For showing great curiosity in her learning last week. She asked thoughtful questions, shared her ideas and stayed engaged in every lesson. This student has also recently returned from her time in the UK full of positivity and enthusiasm. She has shown great focus by settling straight back into her learning with determination and energy. Her positive mindset and commitment to her work are a wonderful example to others. |
1O | Grace | For being a collaborative and supportive member of 1O. You are always quick to show whole body listening on the carpet, which helps set a positive example for others. You also demonstrate wonderful initiative by finding ways to help around the classroom, and your thoughtfulness never goes unnoticed. I love how you notice when a friend needs support and are quick to lend a helping hand. Your kindness and teamwork make you a valued member of our class. Well done, Grace! |
2M | Kavya | For being a motivated learner. You worked hard and showed great effort in coming to the carpet ready to learn and participate. You also shared with the class what you enjoyed on our Pilgrimage to the park, like the beautiful flowers. Thank you for being a wonderful classmate to your peers, you make our classroom a happy place. Good job Kavya! |
2A | Bella | For being a collaborative learner. You are always there to support your peers, particularly those who need a little extra help. You are caring and kind and greet others with a cheerful smile and a welcoming attitude. At our excursion to the MacCormack park you walked hand in hand with your partner, followed the instructions and had so much fun collaboratively with your partner and the whole cohort. Well done Bella, you are a star. |
3/4LM | Amelia | For demonstrating collaborative leadership whilst bringing a sense of calm to our learning space! Amelia began every day with a smile on her face, willing to work with any classmate and assist others during learning tasks. Thank you for being a positive role model in our classroom! You are a superstar! |
3/4K | Casey | For being a motivated learner when researching your location for your travel brochure. You researched with focus and curiosity , finding information for each category and recorded key facts clearly, ready to use in your writing. It was fantastic to see how engaged you were during this task, and wonderful to see you using your learning strengths to support your success. Congratulations Casey! Keep up the excellent effort! |
3/4N | Elizabeth | For being a creative learner. Your creativity in painting and designing your 3D landform showed great perseverance and determination. You worked carefully and thoughtfully to complete a truly beautiful piece of work. Your imagination and dedication are an inspiration to others—well done, Elizabeth! |
5/6S | Darcy | For being a collaborative learner. You are fun to work with and bring lots of creativity and energy to any group you’re in. You listen well to others whilst also sharing your thoughts and feelings.
