Parent Opinion Survey
Our school is taking part in the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey run by the Department of Education, and we’d love your feedback.
The survey helps us understand families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. Your input is optional, but it is highly valued and appreciated. The results guide us in identifying areas for improvement, planning professional development, and shaping school planning and improvement strategies.
Survey dates:
Opens: Monday 18 August 2025
Closes: Friday 19 September 2025
Who can participate? All families are invited to take part in this year’s survey.
How to take the survey:
- The survey is online and takes about 20 minutes.
- It can be completed on a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone at any convenient time.
We encourage you to take part and help us continue to make Bolinda Primary the best it can be. If you would like more information, please contact the office.
"I Like to Move It" Day Coming Up
One of my favourite end-of-term events — “I Like to Move It” Day is returning! This whole-school celebration of movement and fun will be held on the last day of Term 3 and we’d love your help to make it a success.
The last time we ran this event, back in 2023, the day was filled with activities such as egg and spoon races, tunnel ball, a body-spelling challenge, sports trivia, and a “Spot the Sports” task (featuring a parent dressed as a walking sports-themed scavenger hunt!).
Even the teachers formed their own team to take on the students in friendly competition.
If you’re interested in helping out on the day — whether it’s running an activity, joining in the fun, or supporting behind the scenes — please contact the school. Your involvement will help make this day an unforgettable celebration for our students.
Cobaw District Athletics
Today, 15 of our students travelled to Bendigo to take part in the Cobaw District Athletics. Leaving at 8.30am, they’ve had a busy day competing in a range of events including running races, shot put, discus, long jump, and triple jump.
While we’re still waiting on the full results, we’re thrilled to share that our 12/13 Boys Relay Team took out first place in their division — a fantastic achievement!
We look forward to hearing all about the day when the team returns and will share a full wrap-up in the next newsletter.
Fence Update
At this week’s School Council meeting, it was approved that $3,000 from our fundraising funds will go towards the new fence project. This generous contribution is a huge help and makes the project achievable.
The 1.8m fence is planned for installation during the September school holidays. It will feature four gate access points around the perimeter, including two double gates. As part of the design, we will be removing the access point at the front of the school next to the old storage shed. This decision was made both to keep costs down and to support the transformation of that space, which we have an exciting vision for.
These improvements will enhance safety, usability, and the overall look of our school grounds — and we can’t wait to see them come to life.
Basketball Tournament
Eight students represented Bolinda Primary School at the interschool basketball tournament. We were the smallest school competing, with many of our players participating in basketball for the first time.
Across the day, the team played with determination and enthusiasm, showing strong sportsmanship and teamwork. Players consistently supported and encouraged each other on and off the court. Their efforts resulted in three wins from the matches played.
A highlight of the day occurred before the final game when a student gathered the team for a short talk about effort, teamwork, and enjoying the game — a moment that summed up the spirit of the event.
For our Year 6 students, this was their last primary school basketball tournament. The focus for the day was on having fun, building skills, and experiencing the benefits of working together as a team.
Garden Works Commencing
The transformation of our veggie garden into a community garden has officially begun! Earlier this week, the fence panels were removed to prepare the space for its makeover.
The next step is levelling the area and removing the old garden beds to make way for the new design.
We’ve engaged a service to assist with the installation of the new garden beds, and things are moving quickly. This is an exciting project for our school and community, and we’ll be sharing updates and photos as the work progresses.
