Kindness Collective Term 3 Recap

The ACS group, the Kindness Collective (made up of a mix of Year 10 and 11 students), have been very busy, yet productive this term.

Homelessness City Tour

On the 30th of July, The Kindness Collective visited the Salvos headquarters in Melbourne CBD to take part in their 'Homelessness City Tour'. Students learned about the realities of being unhoused in Australia, participated in interactive activities to deepen their understanding, and were guided through key locations in the city connected to this issue. The excursion encouraged students to reflect on the complexity of the crisis and fostered greater empathy and respect for those in our community who are impacted.

Thank You Notes Initiative

The Kindness Collective also ran an initiative where Senior School students could write a thank you note to a person of their choice (a parent, student, staff member or special person/group in their life).

These notes have been posted on the notice board near the Atrium entrance for the whole cohort to see. This initiative has allowed Senior School students to establish gratitude and think about the positive attributes of other people in their life.

Shopping Trip

On the 20th of August, the Kindness Collective ventured to Watergardens Woolworths to shop for non-perishable items that can be donated to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. The students purchased close to $200 worth of items to support disadvantaged members of our society. As well as this being a fun excursion for students to participate in, it has enabled students to demonstrate an altruism for those who may face immense struggle.
