Kitchen Garden

I'm sure many have noticed the recent changes in and around our kitchen garden in recent times. A lot of planning and preparation has been conducted and coordinated by Anne Hostein and Stephen Young, which has now allowed our students to have more of an involvement in setting up the spaces for further outdoor learning to occur.

Recently our Grade 6 students assisted their Foundation buddies in creating and designing a wide range of Kitchen garden supplies. Such resources included signs and posts that are now located around the school. This will now make it known to everyone what we are trying to grow and harvest, but also where some locations are out of bounds so it gives the best opportunities for our plants to grow!

We are so excited and cannot wait to fully experience the endless opportunities our Kitchen Garden Program will bring to the students. A big thank you to Anne Hostein and Stephen Young for their continued efforts and organisation.

Parent Teacher Interviews

This week Parent Teacher Interviews begin and it presents itself as another great opportunity for our parents/families to work together with our teachers. These interviews are much more than simply a chance to discuss academic progress. They allow parents to gain a deeper understanding of their child’s strengths, challenges, and learning habits, while teachers benefit from parents’ insights into their child’s interests, experiences, and personality. This two-way exchange helps ensure that learning is supported consistently, both at school and at home.

research shows that when parents are actively engaged in their child’s learning, students experience greater motivation, improved confidence, and stronger academic outcomes. Parent teacher interviews are a key component of this engagement and an integral place holder within our approach to student assessment. They give parents the chance to ask questions, clarify expectations, and celebrate progress, while also identifying practical strategies to help their child succeed.

We encourage all parents to take part in the upcoming interviews as a valuable opportunity to connect, collaborate, and support your child’s growth.
