Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

PBL Lessons

Week 9 - Transitions

Week 10- Holiday Safety

Dot Day

As part of our PBL approach, we recognize and reward students for making positive choices throughout the school. At GSPS, students earn ‘dots’ for demonstrating positive behaviours in all areas of the school. These dots can be saved and spent throughout the term at the ‘Dot Café,’ where a variety of exciting rewards and experiences are available.

At the end of each term, we celebrate with ‘Dot Day’—a special afternoon where students use their earned dots to participate in fun activities. Students will also have the opportunity to provide feedback and suggest new activities for future Dot Days. It’s a fantastic event that both students and staff look forward to!

This term, Dot Day will be held on 3rd April (Week 10 - Thursday). Be sure to check out the Dot Day Poster for more details!

Showing Respect

At Goondiwindi State School respecting others is one of our core expectations. We are committed to creating a safe and respectful environment for all students. Physical aggression, such as hitting, pushing, or kicking with intent, will not be tolerated. These actions are harmful and go against our expectations of Teamwork and Respect.

Students involved in physical aggression will face immediate consequences to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone. We encourage all students to report such incidents to a teacher or trusted adult.

Goondiwindi State School is a positive and safe place for learning.

Respectful Relationships Education

The Peaceful Kids program has been part of our Respectful Relationships lessons with the year fives this term. The program teaches mindfulness, emotional regulation, and resilience skills to help children manage stress and build confidence. Through breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and problem-solving strategies, students learn to navigate challenges with a calm and positive mindset.

You can support these skills at home by encouraging mindful moments, deep breathing, and open conversations about emotions. Together, we can help our children thrive!
