Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is now open, and Park Ridge is excited to be participating!
The Challenge is open to all Victorian children from birth to Year 10, recognizing the importance of reading for literacy development. It is not a competition but a personal challenge for children to read a set number of books by 5th September 2025.
The number of books students are encouraged to read and ‘experience’ this year is as follows:
Prep to Year 2
- Total number of books: 30
- Number of books from the Challenge book list: 20 or more
Year 3 to Year 6
- Total number of books: 15
- Number of books from the Challenge book list: 10 or more
All children at Park Ridge Primary School have been enrolled, so parents simply need to log in and enter the books read. Passwords and login details will be sent home by the classroom teacher. If you have any questions or experience difficulties logging in, please contact your classroom teacher for assistance.
A list of suggested Challenge books can be found below, and the full list of Challenge books is available here: Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge Book Lists.
Students who complete the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and former Premiers. Additionally, all participants will be entered into a draw to win certificates and prizes at assembly—so get reading!
