Hi Tarneit Rise families,

Last week Prep students continued to explore how music can be made with your voice, body percussion and using instruments. Prep students have learnt songs, practiced creating and following body percussion patterns and learnt about and used different one toned instruments. This week Prep students are exploring drama by acting as different animals and characters. Students will also explore showing different emotions while acting.

In Grade 1 students have created a choreography as a class to Don’t Stop Moving by S Club 7. This week the Grade 1 students are continuing to work on their choreography making sure they are dancing in time with each other and with the music. They have also been exploring dancing with different energies to show emotion and using facial expressions while dancing to convey emotion that matches the song.

The Grade 2 students have continued to build on the class’s choreography to a 4/4 beat in small groups. This week the Grade 2 students will be performing their dances to their classmates.

Last week the Grade 3 students have continued working on their dance choreography focusing on using the elements of dance in their dance routine and taking on the feedback given to them from the teacher to improve their dances. This week they are performing their dance routines to their classmates.

In week 7 the Grade 4 students used a stimulus to inspire their choreography that they created in the lesson to their chosen song. This week students are continuing to rehear their dance routines so they are ready to perform in week 9.

Last week the Grade 5 students have continued working on their dance this week focusing on using the elements of dance in their dance routine and getting feedback from the teacher and peers on how to improve their dance routine. This week they are performing their dance routines to their classmates.

In week 7 and 8 the Grade 6 students have continued working on their dance this week focusing on using the elements of dance in their dance routine and getting feedback from the teacher and peers on how to improve their dance routine.
