GEM Chats helps families practice The Resilience Project’s principles. They offer a simple well-being check-in while building stronger connections through daily conversations.
HOW TO USE GEM CHATS
Make GEM Chats a part of your dinner routine to reflect, check in, and practice empathy.
Try these prompts:
In Year 6 this week, students were asked the following prompt:
'Who made you feel cared for this week? What actions did they take?'

My Mum made me feel cared for this week because she comforted me when I was feeling upset. - Sarah (6C)
My Mum made me feel cared for this week. She takes care of me and cooks me dinner. - Paige (6A)
Hunter made me feel cared for. I fell over in basketball and he helped me. - Tayze (6A)
My footy coach made me feel cared for. He teaches me how to better at footy. He does drills with me and helps me to be a better player. - Axel (6B)
My Mum makes me feel cared for because she spends time with me. - April (6B)
For the families who wanted to attend but may have missed it, you can view the Building Resilience at Home for Parents/Carers Webinar here.
This webinar provides parents/carers with knowledge of the TRP program, tips and strategies to support their child's wellbeing at home through the GEM principles. The aim is to bridge the gap between the classroom and home, equipping parents with the tools to foster resilience in their children.
Please note that the above link will only be available to you until the 13th of April.
Enjoy!
Take care, and have a wonderful weekend.
