Safety First - Evacuation Drill

Today, we participated in our first whole school evacuation for 2025. Evacuation Drills are important because they prepare people to respond quickly and safely in case of an emergency, such as a fire, earthquake, gas leak, or other dangerous situations.  This is part of our VRQA school registration requirements.  As school safety is always our priority, ensuring these drills are completed as 'real' as possible is very important.

Other drills benefits include:

🔥 Safety & Preparedness

  • Ensures all staff and students know escape routes and emergency exits.
  • It helps people stay calm and organised instead of feeling unsure or worried.
  • Allows practice for different scenarios, like fire or lockdown drills.

Speed & Efficiency

  • Reduces the time it takes to evacuate, preventing injuries.
  • Help to support emergency responders so they can do their jobs effectively.

🧠 Builds Confidence

  • It helps the school  (especially children and employees) feel more in control during 'real' emergencies.

Regular evacuation drills save lives by ensuring everyone knows exactly what to do when danger strikes!

Enjoy the weekend and we look forward to Week 8.
