Settling in to Term One

Our Grade 1/2 students have been working hard and learning important skills that help us grow both academically and socially. We are practicing how to listen carefully and cooperate when working in groups, ensuring that everyone has a voice and is treated with respect.

In addition to teamwork, we have been learning how to recognize and name our emotions. By understanding our feelings, we can express ourselves in a positive way and speak up for what we need. Every day, we are building a classroom community where kindness, respect, and confidence shine!

BUBBLE WRITING

We had a great time playing around with bubbles as part of our literacy work. Blowing and playing with bubbles is a magical language experience that sparks curiosity and excitement in early years learners. As children watch bubbles float, pop, and shimmer in the sunlight, they explore rich descriptive language—words like glistening, drifting, bursting, tiny, enormous, and swirling come to life. The sensory experience of feeling the bubbles on their hands and chasing them through the air encourages eager discussions, storytelling, and creative expression. With high engagement and joyful exploration, this playful activity naturally inspires great writing, as children eagerly describe their bubble adventures using new and expressive vocabulary!

Assembly

On Friday 14th March the F/1/2 students will be presented at our Whole School Assembly from 2:15-3:00 pm! We hope you can make it and see all the great things we have been learning! After the assembly, we would like to invite the F/1/2 parents to a brief afternoon tea from 3:00-3:00 pm, to come and learn how you can help your child read at home! We think this will be a great way to build your skills and continue the learning from school, into the home environment. We will be able to provide supervision to the F/1/2 students for this time to ensure that you can come along. We hope to see you there so we can continue to work together and grow young minds!
