YEAR 1 COMO HOUSE

Last week, the Year One students went on an excursion to Como House in South Yarra. Como House is a historic mansion from the 1800s.
We got to have a tour of the house and were surprised to learn that people had to use a pot as a toilet during the night, which servants then had to clean out in the mornings!
We also used buckets to wash clothes the old-fashioned way, played popular games from the olden days including egg and spoon races, quoits and skipping, and completed the broken doll mystery challenge around the beautiful gardens. We all had a great time learning about the difference between life, past and present.
