School Advisory Council
Last Wednesday, we held our first advisory council meeting at Prattys Patch in Maiden Gully. During the evening, we said thank you to some of our members who will be finishing up with us. In addition, we welcomed Eliisa Wilson to the School Advisory Council for 2025. Elissa will make up one of three of our parent representatives. Mrs Wilson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the group, as she is a current parent of the school, a primary teacher, and a very active community member of Inglewood.
Kerrie Scolari
Kerrie's connection to St. Mary’s began as a student herself, she continued that legacy when her children, Bowen, Samantha, Seth and Ruby, attended our school. From the very beginning, Kerrie immersed herself in our community, taking on a role as a dedicated Board Member, where she contributed her time, insights, and passion to support the school’s direction and growth.
Her involvement extended beyond governance—Kerrie was an integral part of our Energy Breakthrough (EB) program, helping to create enriching experiences for our students. Her son, Seth, was known for his love of reading and his ability to engage in thoughtful discussions, while Ruby stood out as a wonderful role model in leadership, demonstrating kindness and responsibility among her peers.
Kerrie’s commitment to the school was also mirrored by her parents, who were ever-present at school celebrations, supporting their grandchildren and our wider community with warmth and enthusiasm.
Thank you Kerrie
Shane Maxwell
Shane and his wife Michelle’s connection to St Mary’s runs deep. Michelle, a past pupil of our school, and Shane, who first joined us as a parent in 2012 when their eldest daughter Claire commenced Prep, have been an integral part of our school community ever since. Their younger daughter, Rebekah, followed in Claire’s footsteps, beginning her journey at St. Mary’s in 2014.
Shane has contributed significantly to our school over the years. They participated in school working bees, always willing to lend a hand to ensure our school grounds remained a welcoming and well-maintained space for our students. Shane continues to be an active member with a keen interest in the future direction of St. Mary’s.
Since 2020, Shane has taken on the vital role of school landscaping maintenance person, ensuring our facilities remain in excellent condition and creating a safe and supportive learning environment for our students and staff. I walk through the gates of this school every day and marvel at the gardening works before me which Shane had a part in. His dedication and hard work behind the scenes have made a lasting impact, and we are grateful for his ongoing services.
Thank you Shane
Linda Isaac
Linda, your commitment and generosity of time over the years have left a positive mark on our school. From the moment your family joined St. Mary’s in 2012, you have given your time, energy, to the community.
You have served on the school board, stepping outside your comfort zone to ensure the best for our students. You have been actively involved in the Parents & Friends committee, supporting school initiatives and fundraising efforts. Your willingness to help has extended to swimming programs, Leadership Days, barbecues, catering for special events, and nearly every school event that has taken place over the years.
Your contributions to Energy Breakthrough (EBT) have been outstanding, from transporting equipment and supporting the students to organising appreciation gifts for the dedicated staff involved. You and Mal have tirelessly towed trailers, made countless trips, and ensured our students had the best experience possible.
You have baked cakes, cooked sausages, and contributed to fundraisers, always ensuring St. Mary’s had the support it needed. Your commitment to community service extends beyond our school, as you continue to serve on the Loddon Pony Club, local Town Hall committee, and Recreation Reserve committee, among many other responsibilities.
Your eldest daughter Elysha was an important part of our 2023/2024 school years as she chose to complete two blocks of Work Experience, which gave us an extra pair of hands. Ryan grew in confidence in his final year of schooling and contributed to our student leadership team.
On behalf of the entire St. Mary’s community, we thank Kerrie, Shane and Linda for your years of dedication and council. We wish you and your family all the best in the future, knowing that you will always be a valued part of the St. Mary’s family.
