Rotations
Our Prep - Year 3 students continue to explore a range of different activities during their Monday afternoon rotations:
Drama games with Ellen - Celebrity animals!
One of the games the Prep and Year 1 students played was a guessing and acting game, similar to celebrity head. The twist was that you didn't get to ask questions and had to guess your animal by watching the rest of the class act out your animal with no sounds. There was a lot of laughter and some particularly funny cow impersonations!
Science experiments with Kim - Colourful Celery
The Year 2s conducted a celery colour change experiment . They used celery stalks, water, and food colouring to show how plants drink water through tiny internal tubes called xylem.
Kitchen Garden with Kathryn - Butter Chicken Delight!
The Year 3s made some pancakes in the kitchen on Monday. They enjoyed them with some mandarin. Delicious!
On Thursday students enjoyed delicious Butter Chicken with Vegetables and Rice for lunch.
Prepared by our Wednesday year 3-6 students, we carefully prepared the fresh chicken thighs (provided by Will from Tawonga Butchers... we love buying local), peeled and grated vegetables and then carefully cooked the meals over the stovetops.
So far the feedback from students about our lunches has been very positive!
Stay tuned for Special Fried Rice coming next Thursday for lunch!
The Year 4 to 6 students are rotating through circus and animation with Anna, and art and craft sessions with Steph on Friday afternoons. They have used air dry clay to create some wonderful creatures based on their 'monster in my pocket' stories from last term. Today they began to make a habitat for their creatures.
4-6 Inquiry
Our Year 4 - 6 Science lessons focused on the world of magnets yesterday. Students enjoyed testing out what they could do with magnets of different shapes and sizes. The lesson focused on hands-on science inquiry, exploring attraction and repulsion, and testing magnetic materials.

This week students enjoyed learning about the Commonwealth Games. We watched amazing athletes, gymnasts, swimmers and sporting professionals in action and cheered on our Aussie teams! Students created some fun posters and discussed the personal qualities needed to be a professional athlete... dedication, pride, persistence and resilience.
Go Aussies!
