Ski Program
Our Year 3 -6 skiers had a breathtaking day of fresh snow at Falls Creek on Wednesday. For many of our students, it was their first experience of a snow fall shower. What a special experience!
A huge thank you to Steph for her outstanding organisation of our ski program, and to the many parent volunteers whose support makes it possible to safely supervise so many students on the slopes.
Our third and final downhill ski day is scheduled for next Wednesday, after which our cross-country ski program will begin over the following weeks.
Children's Book Week
Next week is Book week. It's time to get your costumes ready! What will the staff theme be... It's safe to say they will be experiencing things for the first time.
The Book Fair Book Shop
The book shop will be set up in our multi-purpose room and will be open on Tuesday 4th & Wednesday 5th, after school from 3:20 - 4:20pm. This is where Book Club comes alive, where we can look at lots of amazing books that you might like to purchase. Scholastic donate points to the school and we use this to purchase new books for our fabulous Library. Last year we received over $500 worth of books (WOW).
Dress Up Day
Thursday the 6th of August is our annual Book Dress up day. Come dressed as a book character or even a book! We have our school parade at 9am and we will then go to the Kinder to share our wonderful costumes. After recess we will break into cross aged groups to complete activities based on wonderful children's literature.
Kitchen Garden
Yesterday was another successful day for our canteen, driven by Kathryn and our kitchen garden students. The butter chicken was delicious!
Please keep an eye on Compass for details about an opportunity for students to buy special fried rice for lunch next Thursday for $5. You will be able to pay with cash or through Compass. Orders are due before 3:15pm on Tuesday.
2027 Prep Enrolment and
Transition Activities
This week we have had the pleasure of welcoming some prospective new students and their families to two more Ready, Set, Prep! sessions.
On Monday morning, our Prep students were joined by some familiar younger faces and their families for an art session with Nicole. There was some beautiful snail inspired artworks created.
On Thursday, we welcomed children from Lakeview Kindergarten for the second of two PMP sessions. During the session, the children practised balancing, jumping and crawling, along with some bean bag and silk scarf tricks. We were impressed with their coordination as well as their willingness to listen and give everything a go.
Our next sessions with next year's new prep students will be early in Term 4 as we begin our more formal transition program. We can't wait to meet them all and help them settle into the next phase of their educational journey.

2026 NAPLAN Celebration
If you haven't had a chance to see our school's results in NAPLAN yet, the results are outlined below. As a school, we are very proud of our students' achievements.
This year, our school outperformed similar and network schools in all areas in both Year 3 and Year 5, for the percentage of students who achieved strong or exceeding in proficiency.

Our staff pay special attention to our relative learning growth data. This measures the change in results over two years from when students sat the tests in Year 3 to when they participated in Year 5. Our learning growth results this year were exceptional.
The percentages shown in the following table represent the proportion of students who have achieved high or medium growth relative to students that had a similar NAPLAN score two years prior. Again, all of our results were higher than similar schools and schools from our network.

We see these results as being evidence of our calm classrooms and the structures that our school has put in place to ensure that every child has the environment and support to feel safe, happy and ready to learn. It is a reflection of the dedication and expertise of our teachers and education support staff and the nurturing that families provide their children at home. Well done everyone!
