YEAR 3

FROM THE CLASSROOM

In Reading this week, students have continued to explore the text 'Anzac Day', specifically looking into what Dawn Services look like in Australia and around the world. Students were exposed to the different connections we have to a text (text to self, text to text and text to world) and made their own connections.

In Writing, they have continued to explore information report texts by creating their own text about a creature of their choosing. Students have created writing pieces that have comparison language, a range of generalisers and include information about unusual and special features to describe their own animal.

In Mathematics, students have been practicing identifying different types of angles and explored where these angles can be found.

In Wellbeing this week, students looked at identifying stereotypes and challenging unfair assumptions.

During Inquiry, students have begun to explore and develop an understanding of the reasoning as to why celebrations and commemorations have different symbols and emblems. Students have continued to investigate the importance and significance of these celebrations.
