GROWING INDEPENDENCE
At Ramlegh Park Primary School, our role as educators extends beyond supporting students to succeed at school. We are helping them develop the confidence, skills and personal responsibility they will need to become capable, independent adults.
Our vision, mission and objective reflect our commitment to developing confident thinkers, problem-solvers, lifelong learners and active global citizens who are equipped to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Independence develops gradually through everyday opportunities. Packing a school bag, remembering belongings, organising learning materials, attempting a task before asking for help, resolving small problems and taking responsibility for choices all contribute to this growth. Even staying out of puddles.
As adults, it can sometimes be quicker or easier to step in and solve a problem or complete a task for them. However, allowing children the time and space to think, attempt, make mistakes and try again builds resilience, confidence and self-belief.
Together, we are not only preparing children for their next year of schooling, we are preparing them to become confident, self-sufficient and capable young people.
SICKBAY NOTIFICATIONS
Most visits to sickbay are for minor concerns, such as small scrapes or bumps. If you receive a sickbay notification through Compass, it simply means that your child has attended sickbay. While the text notification itself does not include details, you can view information about the visit by logging in to Compass.
If there is a serious concern, the school will contact you directly by phone before sending this notification.
STUDENT SAFETY & AMBULANCE COVER
The safety and wellbeing of every student is always our highest priority. If a child becomes seriously injured or unwell at school and staff determine that urgent medical assistance is required, an ambulance will be called without delay. This decision will always be based on the child’s medical needs and our duty of care, and is often made before calling their parents/carers.
Any costs associated with ambulance attendance, treatment or transport are the responsibility of the child’s family and are not covered by the school. To help protect against unexpected ambulance expenses, we encourage families to consider Ambulance Victoria membership.
Annual Membership costs $109.93 for a Family or $54.97 for an Individual
ART & SPORT EXPO EXCURSION
Yesterday, a group of selected students had the exciting opportunity to participate in a special Art and Sport Expo Day.
Our Art students travelled to the National Gallery of Victoria and Federation Square, where they explored creative spaces, artworks and experiences designed to inspire their artistic thinking.
Our Sport students visited the Victorian Institute of Sport, where they gained an insight into high-performance sport, training and the dedication required of elite athletes.
This was a valuable opportunity for students to extend their interests beyond the classroom, learn from experts and experience some of Melbourne’s leading cultural and sporting institutions.
100 DAYS OF PREP
On Wednesday, our Prep students celebrated a very special milestone—100 Days of School!
Our Prep students marked the occasion by dressing as 100-year-olds and proudly parading through the school, receiving plenty of smiles, waves and high fives from students and staff along the way.
The celebration was a great opportunity to reflect on just how much our Prep students have grown since their first day of school. Over their first 100 days, they have learned and developed new skills, built friendships, established routines and shown tremendous confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
CONGRATULATIONS to all of our Prep students on reaching this exciting milestone!!!
HAPPY PRINCIPAL'S DAY
Today, Ramlegh Park Primary School would like to acknowledge and thank our Principal, Linda Corcoran, and Assistant Principals, Jodi Destratis, Kirsten Smith and Traceye Rapinett.
Their leadership, encouragement and unwavering commitment to our school are felt every day. They support us through challenges, celebrate our successes and continually inspire us to strive for the very best for our students and families.
We are grateful for the care, trust and dedication that they bring to their roles, and for the many ways—both seen and unseen—that they support our staff and strengthen our school community.

Photographing, Filming & Recording Students Policy
We are committed to protecting the privacy, safety and wellbeing of every student. This policy explains how photographs, videos and recordings may be taken, stored and shared, including the consent requirements that apply to school activities, events and publications.
Visitors Policy
At Ramlegh Park, we welcome parents, carers, volunteers and community members who contribute to our school. This policy outlines the processes visitors must follow when entering school grounds, including signing in and meeting relevant child safety requirements, to help maintain a safe and secure environment for all students and staff.
Yard Duty & Supervision Policy
Student safety remains a priority throughout the entire school day, including before school, during recess and lunch, and after dismissal. This policy outlines the supervision arrangements and responsibilities in place to ensure students are appropriately supported while on school grounds.
