Class Learning - Seniors

Mary MacKillop Centre

In preparation for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, the Year 6 Senior Students recently visited the Mary MacKillop Centre to learn more about Australia’s First Saint and discover how she used the Gifts of the Holy Spirit to support and help others. Mary Mackillop’s words inspired the Seniors to, ‘Never see a need without doing something about it.’ The year 5/6 students also designed their own symbol to represent Confirmation.

STEM Inquiry Unit: 

How can we use technology to shape our lives now and in the future?

The Seniors had the opportunity to create their own Billy Karts as part of our Inquiry unit. They had the opportunity to show determination when using tools such as saws and hammers. This incursion gave our seniors an excellent foundation for some of the creative challenges they have faced throughout our unit. 

Confirmation 

On Saturday August 15th, Holy Spirit joined with St Joseph’s and St Mary’s to celebrate the final Sacrament of Initiation - Confirmation. Our Candidates were incredibly well prepared and reverent throughout the whole process. It was an incredibly special experience and it was wonderful to see all the families and loved ones of our candidates gather together to celebrate this special sacrament. Congratulations to all our candidates!
