Leading Teachers Report
(Director Of Students- Junior, Middle and Senior Schools)
Term 2 has begun with a clear and consistent focus across the Junior School: Respect—for self, others, and our community, both within and beyond the classroom.
This term, we are prioritising student organisation as a foundation for success. Clear expectations are in place to ensure every student is prepared for learning—equipped with the right materials, using their planner effectively, and maintaining organised learning spaces. These habits build independence, accountability, and confidence.
Our Year 8 students have already engaged in the highly successful Medieval Day, bringing history to life through immersive and engaging experiences. Thank you to the Humanities Domain for organising and facilitating this engaging and meaningful experience.
Our Junior students also represented the college with pride at Cross Country, demonstrating commitment, resilience, and school spirit.
As the term progresses, preparation for upcoming Year 8 exams will be a key focus, supporting students to further strengthen their study skills and confidence.
A key priority across the Junior School is empowering student voice and agency.
We are proud to announce our 2026 Year 7 Student Representative Council (SRC) members:
Rawya Bamahriz – Curriculum
These students, alongside our Junior School Student Leadership Team, are actively shaping the student experience through their involvement in assemblies, the school newsletter, and broader school initiatives—ensuring student perspectives are heard, valued, and acted upon.
In addition, Year 7 Class Captains are working alongside Peer Support leaders to design and deliver targeted mentor group lessons. This work strengthens connections across the cohort while building leadership capability and ownership of learning.
We look forward to a focused, purposeful, and high-impact term ahead.

Although the weather has been wet and cold, it has been a fantastic start to Term 2 for our Middle School students. Students across Years 9 and 10 have embraced a range of learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.
Our Year 9 students recently participated in the REACH Foundation’s Heroes Day at St Kilda Town Hall. This was a powerful and emotional day where students explored peer dynamics, identity, connection and teenage vulnerability. It was exceptional to see so many students actively engaging in the program and demonstrating leadership throughout the forum. Year 9’s also participated in the Smashed Incursion, an engaging educational performance that explores the life-changing effects of alcohol, including the impact on health, safety, relationships and future aspirations.
Meanwhile, our Year 10 students took part in valuable learning experiences through recent visits to the Holocaust Museum and the Hellenic Museum. These excursions provided important opportunities to deepen students’ understanding of history, culture, identity and the experiences of others.
Looking ahead for the rest of Term 2, exams are fast approaching. They begin after the King’s Birthday long weekend, on Tuesday 9 June. Students are encouraged to start revising now. Helpful preparation strategies include creating a revision timetable, reviewing class notes and teacher feedback, practising sample questions, asking teachers for clarification, and maintaining healthy routines.
Course selection will also begin soon. This is an important process for Middle School students as they choose subjects aligned with their strengths, interests, and future pathways. Students are encouraged to review their Morrisby results, speak with our Careers Practitioner, Ms Effie Patti, and seek guidance from their mentor teacher, a trusted classroom teacher, or year level leader. Course handbooks are available on the College website, and further information will be provided to students and families over the coming weeks.
I look forward to another productive Term.

Director of Students: Middle School
It’s been a really positive start to the term in the Senior School, with a number of students in both Units 1 and 3 achieving high to excellent results in their SACs. This is a great reflection of the consistent effort many students are putting into their learning, and it’s always pleasing to see that work recognised.
Over the coming weeks, Mentor Group teachers will be meeting with students to check in on attendance, set goals and talk through any barriers they might be facing. It’s encouraging to see students taking ownership of this, asking questions and working towards maintaining the 90% attendance benchmark that supports strong outcomes.
As we move further into the term, we encourage all students to keep up with regular study and revision. Staying on top of classwork, revisiting key concepts and reaching out to classroom teachers for support when needed can make a real difference. Our staff are always happy to help, early conversations often prevent bigger challenges later on.
