News and Notices

Term 2 is off to an excellent start, with students returning settled, focused and ready to learn, and routines quickly re-established across classrooms.  Our students are demonstrating our Tally Way habits of gratitude, optimism, empathy and self-regulation, supporting a positive and productive start to the term.

Braveheart's Ditto Show

Students in Prep to Year 2 attended the 'Ditto's Keep Safe Adventure Show' last Wednesday.  This show provided students with personal safety tools and strategies while supporting positive self-esteem and resilience building. The Ditto show compliments the Health curriculum provided by our school.

ANZAC Day

Our Anzac Day ceremonies were held on Friday 24 April and we commend our students on their respectful and thoughtful reflection during those important events.  Our student leaders and selected seniors did an outstanding job leading the ceremonies.

Our Year 3 to Year 6 students participated in a complete service and we were honoured and grateful to have Major Edward Plant as our special guest and inspirational speaker. A choir performance, Year 6 poetry recital, Year 5 singing of the New Zealand National Anthem and class representatives laying wreaths contributed to the respectful commemoration and were moving.

Our ANZAC ceremony for our younger children (Years 1 and 2) was shorter to be age appropriate and included educational information, short speeches and the laying of wreaths.  Our Preps learnt about ANZAC Day in their classrooms and made paper poppies that were displayed during our ANZAC ceremonies.

We distributed rosemary from our gardens as a symbol of remembrance to our students on the day.

On ANZAC Day, student leaders joined Mrs Harlow (Principal), Miss McNabb (DP), Mrs Collins (Teacher), Mr Tengdahl (Teacher) and Mrs Stockbridge (Head of Professional Practice) to represent our school by participating in the march at Currumbin.  Our school captains Evie and Ayla laid a wreath on our behalf during the service at the Currumbin RSL.

Mother’s Day Stall

Thank you to our wonderful P&C for running another successful Mother’s Day stall. Volunteers make this event possible and special thanks goes to Emma Jessop and Kristy Harvey who were the lead organisers of the Mother's Day stall and did hours of work behind the scenes!  Our appreciation goes to all P&C members who generously volunteered their time to help.

Students enjoyed choosing gifts for special people in their lives.

P&C Meeting

The next P&C General meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 20 May in our school library. This meeting recognises P&C Day 23 May and the school is excited to celebrate this day with P&C members by holding a morning tea on this morning.  In Queensland, P&C Day 2026 is observed on Friday, 22 May 2026, aligning with the Friday of National Volunteer Week.  This meeting will be preceded by a special purpose, brief General Meeting at 9am to adopt P&C Queensland's updated constitution.

On behalf of Tallebudgera State School, thank you to our P&C for their incredible work to help our students, school and community!

It’s set to be a fantastic evening, with this year’s dress theme: Vacation Vibes!

Prep 2027

Partnering with us early, supports your child’s successful transition to school.  If you haven’t already submitted your child’s enrolment paperwork for Prep next year, please do this as soon as possible so that you can be added to the invitation list for important pre-Prep events.

Uniform Reminder

The vast majority of our students look fabulous in full uniform every day thanks to the support of their parents and carers.  We highly recommended naming belongings (e.g. jumpers and hats) to enable misplaced items to be returned.  The uniform includes plain white socks (no logos) and plain black shoes (no coloured or white soles or laces and no boots).
