SACSA Soccer Results
Week 8 was a busy week for all things soccer for the PE Department.
On Monday our Year 9/10 Boys team came 5th, and the 9/10 Girls blitzed the field winning the Championship trophy.
Tuesday saw the Year 7/8s take their turn on the field with the boys coming in 7th place, and the 7/8 girls took out the runner up medals.
On Thursday, the Year 5/6 girls from both Brooklyn Park and South Plympton had a great day coming 5th and 6th overall. In the boys competition, our Brooklyn Park team valiantly finished in 10th spot, whilst our South Plympton boys' skill and team work paid off taking out the Division 2 Championship trophy.
In Year 3/4 SACSA, sports are a participation day with students dipping their toe into what SACSA competitions are all about, with everyone receiving participation certificates awarded in assembly.
Most importantly all of our teams throughout the week demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship on and off the field, and we witnessed some great role modelling of positive leadership.
A big thanks to our Emmaus Year 10s, who officiated all of the games for SACSA all week, our PE Department for coaching all the teams, our Year 11 students Petrus and Stephan for stepping up to coach the 7/8 boys. Thank you also to our parent volunteers for coaching, Ben Rodgers (BP 5/6 girls) and Sam Chesser (BP 3/4 girls).

Statewide Knockout Netball Competition
In Week 7, our Secondary students participated in the first round of the Department of Education’s Statewide Schools Knockout Netball Competition. This event offered the students involved in our Netball Development Program the opportunity to compete against other schools and further develop their skills in a competitive environment.
Emmaus was placed in the Southern Pool for Round 1, competing against Victor Harbour High, Investigators College, Reynella East College, Seaford, Cardijn, and Wirrenda.
On Wednesday, our Year 9/10 team played at Seaford College, achieving three wins out of four games. Unfortunately, due to a narrow loss to Wirreanda Secondary School, the team was eliminated prior to Round 2.
On Thursday, our Year 7/8 and Year 11/12 teams competed at Victor Harbour High. Both teams performed exceptionally well and were regarded as the “team to beat.”
The Year 7/8 team secured three victories from four games but were ultimately defeated by Investigators College, who progressed to the next round. The Year 11/12 team distinguished themselves by winning all four matches, thereby advancing to Round 2, which Emmaus will be privileged to host in early Term 3.
We are proud of all students for their high performance and exemplary representation of Emmaus throughout the competition. Their commitment to training on Thursday mornings is clearly reflected in their ongoing improvement, and we look forward to witnessing their continued success.
