Year 10 Gratitude Dinner

Last week, our Year 10 students hosted a special event: the inaugural Year 10 Gratitude Dinner.

The evening was the culmination of their ongoing focus on Servanthood, a theme explored throughout the year in their Biblical Studies classes.

In a heartfelt act of appreciation, students honoured their parents through service by hosting the evening, delivering speeches, providing music items, running a quiz and serving a delicious three-course meal. It was a powerful expression of gratitude, as students acknowledged the countless ways their parents have supported, guided, and cared for them throughout their lives.

Adding a special touch to the night, the Year 10 Food and Hospitality students created and plated the dessert, showcasing their culinary skills and teamwork. Each parent also received a beautifully designed take-home gift, carefully crafted by the Year 10 eCAM class—a meaningful keepsake to remember the evening.

The dinner was a wonderful celebration of connection, growth, and thankfulness.

Inspiring Evening

It was all lights, camera, action at the Semester 1 Inspiring Evening recently!

The night was a great success with students from Year 7-12 showcasing their learning in Drama and Dance this semester.

Students demonstrated excellent growth in their stage presence, genre techniques and design roles. Congratulations to these students on their tremendous performance and outstanding results!

Lands Trip

A special thank you to Ernabella Aṉangu School for hosting Emmaus Christian College on the recent Lands Trip. We are especially grateful to the minymas who spent time sharing stories and teaching our students about bush food, medicine and traditional art techniques in Pukitja. Highlights this year were the bush trip and Culture Day, where students were able to participate in Inma (traditional dance), punu and bead making, weaving, painting and spear making. We are very blessed and look forward to seeing our good friends again soon.

An Unexpected Disciple

The Year 8 Buxton shared with the 7/8 Assembly in Week 8 about the Disciple Matthew as part of the Term 2 Assembly theme of Discipleship.

Each Year 7 and 8 Home Group has been sharing this theme throughout the term, and there have been some thought-provoking messages. Matthew's story is a story of change. He was an unexpected Disciple, a tax collector loathed by his community, but someone whom Jesus saw something in.

Jesus didn't judge Matthew by his job; instead, he saw something special in him. Jesus gave Matthew a chance to be someone different; he did not judge him for his past.

Matthew reminds us that everyone deserves a second chance, that sometimes the most unexpected people can do amazing things and that our story is not yet finished; there is always a chance to change through Christ.
