Over the holidays we encourage our senior students to step back, enjoy time with friends and family, look after their wellbeing, stay safe and make time for the things that bring them joy. A full and exciting Term Three awaits, and it is important to return refreshed and ready to embrace all it has to offer.
Next term marks a historic milestone for our school, as we move into 441 Murray Street. This is a moment we have all been looking forward to – a space that has been purposefully designed to enhance learning, collaboration and community. As we take on this move, we hope that you have taken the time to walk the halls of CQU (10 William St) and reflect on the memories made within those walls. You have said your goodbyes, taken a final look around and appreciated the journey we’ve shared in this chapter of our school's story.
For our Year 12 students, Term Three represents your final full term at St George’s. This is your moment to make the most of every opportunity – from your final school events to important milestones like mock exams and Valedictory preparation. Treasure your time together, support one another, and leave your mark with pride and purpose.
To our Year 11s, Term Three is your chance to step up and show what you’re capable of. With leadership positions for 2026 on the horizon, we will be looking for students who are ready to lead with heart, integrity, and vision. Whether it is through formal roles or everyday actions, this is your opportunity to grow, to challenge yourself and to shape the culture and direction of our school.
This week we said goodbye to someone who has become a treasured member of our St George’s community—Abby Lin.
Since arriving from Taiwan through the Rotary Exchange Program, Abby has enriched our school with her warmth, curiosity and unique perspective. Her open-hearted approach to every classroom discussion, House activity, and lunchtime conversation has left an indelible mark on students and staff alike. I trust her months at St George’s have been filled with learning, laughter, and friendships that will stay with her long after she heads home.
Although Abby’s exchange has come to an end, she will forever remain part of the St George’s family.
Wherever life takes her next, I hope she carries a little piece of our school spirit with her and remembers that our doors will always be open. On behalf of the entire community, I wish Abby every success in the adventures ahead. May her future be rich with opportunity, discovery, and joy.
