Year 7 & 8

Fresh opportunities in the air

Now is a valuable time for our Year 7 and 8 students to reflect not just on their achievements but on how they have grown as learners and people over the first half of the school year.  While Semester One reports provide academic feedback, they also highlight key learning behaviours that are the foundation of long-term success.

It is important to emphasise the significance of a growth mindset, the belief that ability can improve with effort and strategy. Whether students feel proud of their progress or know there is room to grow, the end of term is an ideal moment to pause and set personal goals. What did they learn about themselves? What habits helped them thrive? What changes could they make to start Semester Two stronger?

With our exciting move into our new school building next term, there is a sense of fresh opportunity in the air. New spaces bring new energy, and we are looking forward to seeing how this revitalised environment inspires collaboration, creativity and a renewed focus in our students.  I encourage all students to take some time to rest and reflect on what they hope to achieve when they step into our new campus for the first time in Term Three.

A special highlight this week was the Time Capsule activity. Each student brought in an item of personal significance and completed a reflective booklet, capturing their thoughts, goals and dreams at this stage of their Year 7 school journey. The capsule is now sealed and won’t be opened until the day they graduate in Year 12, a powerful reminder of how far they will grow over the coming years.

To all students of Year 7 and Year 8, thank you for a fantastic semester. You have done yourselves and all of us proud with your efforts. Thank you, as always, to our families for your support. Here’s to Semester Two.
