Way to go, Grammarians

We are thrilled to welcome back 2024 alumni Georgia, Serena and Milo, who have been generously volunteering their time to support set design and construction. Their creativity and dedication have been invaluable to the team.

A huge thank you to fellow Class of 2024 graduates Sadie and Will, who have stepped into student leadership roles as assistant directors. Their work guiding the cast and supporting creative decisions has added incredible strength to the rehearsal process.

All RISE for WAAPA

Last Wednesday evening, our Year 9–12 Dance students attended RISE 2025 at the Geoff Gibbs Theatre, WAAPA.

The performance provided an opportunity for our students to witness the standard of pre-professional dance in WA. RISE featured four diverse works by WAAPA’s Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance cohorts.

Many students took notes and have already begun referencing the works in their critical response tasks.

A big thank you to the families who supported this excursion, and to our students who represented the school with maturity, curiosity, and a genuine passion for the performing arts.

Music ensembles in the swing

As Semester One wraps up, it’s time to reflect on the vibrant co-curricular program we have at St George’s. Our talented students rehearse weekly in the following ensembles:

  • Brassterminds
  • Percussion Ensemble
  • Electrocity (auditioned)
  • Swing Band
  • St George’s Voices
  • Jazz Ensemble (auditioned)
  • String Ensemble
  • Rock Bands in every year group.

We also have a dedicated group of music students who support our chapel services by being part of the Chapel Band and Choir.

So, we encourage our students to turn up the volume, because Semester Two co-curricular music is calling!
