Principal's Report
What a morning! What an amazing effort! Today we have been witness to a sea of creative book week costumes! Celebrating books and literacy within education is always delightful. Well done to all the parents who probably had to research the intricate detail of certain characters, deal with changing minds and last minute wardrobe glitches. I’m sure it was a very busy morning in almost all households today, including our Holy Rosary staff homes.
This week has also brought with it a couple of other celebrations, with children participating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Catholic School Athletics. Admitting when we have done something wrong and pushing ourselves to the limits of our capability are never easy things to do and this week’s Gospel message also reminds us of this feat. Jesus said that following him would not be easy. Life will surely give us seatbacks and heartache. The difference lies in how we choose to face these challenging times. Do we suffer alone or do we embrace the constant companionship of Jesus. This notion reminds me of the Footprints Prayer/ Footprints in the sand poem. I have placed a copy in the Catholic Identity section of the newsletter and highly recommend you read it. Whether it be for the first time, or as a spiritual reflection of the life-giving spirit we are offered in our daily lives.
Next Thursday we look forward to holding our annual Father’s Day stall whereby all the children will have an opportunity to purchase their very own special gift for Dad or loving male figure in their lives. This is followed by our Danish For Dads Father’s Day breakfast gathering on Friday. Thanks to all families who have replied via the try booking system, bookings are essential in order to cater for all our Dads intending to come together as a community for a cuppa and a chat.
Enjoy the final week of the 2024 AFL football season, and good luck to all the Competition Tipping Masters who are hopeful of a win.
