Principal's Message

Rachel Baker | Principal

Dear Parents,

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

Our Year 3 students, along with one of our Year 5 students, celebrated their First Holy Communion at the Holy Family Parish Church yesterday. It was a truly beautiful and memorable occasion. The church was filled with joy and reverence as the children received the Body and Blood of Christ for the first time. The ceremony was marked by heartfelt prayers, uplifting hymns, and the active participation of the young communicants in the liturgy. Parents, teachers, and parishioners gathered to support and celebrate this significant milestone in the children’s spiritual journey. The event was a testament to the strong sense of community and faith at Holy Family Parish. A huge thank you to Fr Allan, Fr Rafael, the Catechists, Mrs Smithson and Miss Siapkas for preparing the children so beautifully.

FATHER'S DAY

I hope all of our Father's, Grandfather's and significant men in our lives were able to relax and spend quality time with their families on Father's Day. It was lovely to have all of these men and other family members at St Aidan's for a BBQ breakfast and coffee last Monday. Year One's tribute to our dads was just beautiful and they thoroughly enjoyed performing for our guests.

The students were so excited to have theirs dads and other family members visit our classrooms to share learning experiences and join in some fun activities.

We had Dads dancing with Kinder

Dads making Paper Aeroplanes with Year 1

A Scavenger Hunt in Year 2

A Kahoot in Year 3

Brainteasers in Year 4

A Spaghetti Challenge in Year 5

A Mathematics Challenge in Year 6

Thank you to all our guests for visiting St Aidan's and for participating in the activities we planned for you. It was great to see happy smiling students, competitive dad's and classrooms filled with loved ones.

WELLBEING WEEK

This week at St. Aidan’s, we are celebrating Wellbeing Week. Our students and staff will participate in range of activities throughout the week to create some quality down time and positive interactions to support everyones wellbeing.

The Wellbeing of our students is a priority. Wellbeing is like building a really cool, strong tower with big and colourful blocks. Some blocks are things like eating healthy food, getting enough sleep, and playing with friends. Others are feelings like being loved, having fun, and feeling proud of yourself. When you have all these blocks in place, your tower is tall and strong, and you feel really good. If one block is missing or not quite right, the tower might wobble a bit. Wellbeing means having all these important blocks in your life so you can build a happy and strong tower!

There will be no homework during this week. Students are asked to wear yellow mufti clothes on Thursday for R U OK day. The other days it would be ideal for the students to wear their PE uniform however we understand that it may not be possible for your child/children to wear their PE uniform every other day so please use your discrepancy in choosing their uniforms for the week.

THE RIGHT TO DISCONNECT

As many of you will have seen in the media, new right-to-disconnect provisions are now in place for many employees in Australia, including SCS staff. Employees have the right to refuse to monitor, read or respond to contact, or attempted contact from their employer or a third party related to their work (i.e. a parent or student) outside of working hours unless the refusal is unreasonable.

We understand that parents and students may send emails outside of school hours. School staff are not required to respond to out of hours emails or calls. We also remind parents to be conscious that most staff are on class, or on supervision duties during the day, and accordingly, there may be a delay in responding to emails or calls, as our first priority is our duty of care to the students.

When contacting the school please always use the St Aidan's School office email info@stamaroubra.catholic.edu.au  or call the school office for any urgent matter.

Have a lovely week.

God bless.
