Grade 3/4 News

Questacon

Last week the grade 3/ 4 unit were lucky enough to get a visit from the Questacon show. The students were bamboozled by the magic of science, observing rockets, logic defying bubbles, and two of the most entertaining presenters that did not disappoint,they even got grumpy Mr Murphy to laugh. 

The highly educational shows detailed flight and water surface tension.

Flight detailed the science behind what keeps items in the air vs what does not. 

The students experience topics such as lift, gravity, and drag.

Water surface tension detailed how bubbles are formed, what sticks water molecules together and how we can support bubbles in staying strong. 

The students were making, laughing and even getting inside a bubbles. 

If you thought that 8, 9 and 10 year old’s are too old for bubbles, you were wrong!

Reconciliation

Some children in grade three are currently preparing to receive  the Sacrament of Reconciliation. 

These children have already received the Sacrament of Baptism.

They meet with Mrs. Boak at least once per week and are exploring what it means to make choices, good and bad and what it means to forgive, say sorry and be forgiven.
