Congratulations to our Week 6 Student Achievement Award winners and 1/2 Bettio for winning the Bernie Trophy with a total of 46 Bernie Cards!
The 1/2‘s had so much fun celebrating Book Week in Week 6.
We loved getting dressed up and participating in a range of activities based on some of the different shortlisted books from the 2024 CBCA Book Of The Year Awards.
We were so lucky to be visited by Questacon National Science Museum last week.
We learnt that to do science you have to do 3 things: question, guess and test.
We also looked at different types of science such as flying and bubbles.
Winton Wetlands also visited us last week!
We learnt so much about Ecologists and how they care for different organisms and habitats in our environment.

In Writing, the students have been learning and writing about different life cycles.
From caterpillars growing into butterflies, to tadpoles growing into frogs, the students have been loving growing their understanding of how animals behave and grow!
We’ve been reading for enjoyment by having a look at some of the different shortlisted books from the 2024 CBCA Book Of The Year Awards and engaging in productive discussions about why we liked or disliked them.
Every Night at Midnight by Peter Cheong was 1/2 Dellicastelli’s favourite!
It came runner up as picture book of the year!
In Maths, we have been focusing on our multiplication skills.
We have looked at different strategies to help us solve problems such as using groups of, arrays, repeated addition and the bar model.
