Foundation News

Hello again to everyone, a big thankyou for the effort that went into our Foundation student Book Week costumes.

The students had a day to remember!

We also enjoyed the Questacon visit last week and hope some families were able to access the free tickets to the expo on Saturday.

In Literacy, we are looking at narrative and began by talking and writing about characters. Discussing words that can describe their outside (what they look like) and words that describe their inside (what they act like).

We will continue to build on this looking at the setting of the story next and the descriptive words that make them interesting.

In Maths students had a lot of fun with subtraction - they all enjoyed playing a game with playdough where we made balls and then subtracted by smashing some balls.

This week with the athletics carnival we are looking at ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.)

In Religion we have started our new unit, ‘I Can Talk to God’ and have begun by revisiting our prayer focus in class and discussing what prayer is.

We congratulate the previous weeks Bernie Trophy winners (we had a tie last week with two classes!)

We also congratulate students who received awards for both home reading and working well in class.
