Class 6 News

BRITTANY DIAZ

Hello!

How can it be that 4 weeks of this term have already passed?!  We have finished off our first Physics lesson studying light, sound, and optics, learning how to observe, have patience, and experiment with different variables.  Tuesday was the last day of our Australian history Main Lesson, finishing with a delightful cooking session making Anzac biscuits.  This lesson also incorporated Australian Geography.  We began our World Geography and Citizenship Skills Main Lesson this week, which I am calling Global Citizenship.  We will be looking at elements of maps/landforms, culture, flora and fauna and how that is related to the environment, and, of course, food!  I am excited to begin exploring these different countries and cultures and discussing our responsibility of being a part of the world today in our ever-increasing connected world.

We have been continuing to work on mental maths and firming up our maths skills, as well as continuing to read and be immersed in literature.  Students are getting very excited about debating and we will be segueing into persuasive writing.

Please be on the lookout for an email in the next week about a farewell send-off for Annalyse.  Exciting times ahead!

Here are some pictures of the beautiful work your students are doing!

Blessings,

Brittany
