Senior School News

Year 10 to 12

Well done to Senior School Students on a great year!

We would like to congratulate all our Senior School students on their efforts throughout 2024. We have witnessed amazing growth and resilience this year as students navigated their studies, extracurricular interests, family commitments and social lives.

Congratulations to our Year 12 students!

We would like to especially applaud the fantastic efforts of all our Year 12 students!

Year 12 can be a year filled with many ups and downs, challenges and wins, laughter and tears. We hope that all our Year 12s can take with them some fond memories of their time at East Doncaster Secondary College as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

As a cohort, their excellent results are a testament to their dedication, resilience and persistence. They should be very proud of themselves, and we wish them all the best with their future endeavours!

Year 10 - Transition to Senior School - Settling into a new class.  We understand that moving into Senior School can be challenging and students may have concerns about being in a class without their friends. The timetabling process in Senior School is complex, due to the individual nature of student subject selections.

The Senior School Coordinators are here to support students through this process.

To help parents set positive expectations for their children, Principal in Residence at the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership Sharon Baker, has written a blog on settling into a new class. Informed by Australian research and the general principles of child psychology, this is a great resource for parents, carers and families to read.

Student Lunches

Just a reminder to parents that we are unable to deliver lunches to students during school time.  It is the student’s responsibility to come and collect their lunch if it has been dropped off at Reception. Hot food is not suitable to be left at Reception.

PLEASE NOTE: Take-away food is not allowed at the College during school hours.  Under no circumstances are students to be ordering take-away food to be delivered to the College.

Student Compass ID/Library/PTV  Cards

Please remind all students that they must carry their Student Compass ID/Library/PTV  Cards with them at all times.

ALL students must sign in and out with their card at The John Landy Centre (Senior School Building)when they are arriving late or leaving early for any reason.

The cards are also used for any student photocopying that is done at school. The EDSC Student Compass ID/Library card can be used as ID for student PTV (Public Transport Victoria) travel. They are required to carry this card as student identification while travelling on public transport.

If a student loses their card, parents/guardians are able to re-order a replacement card via the Compass parent portal.
